Anzac Day - EAL

The EAL students have been busily preparing for the ANZAC Day Centenary. The activities many of the students participated in included watching video clips of World War One, assisting the VCAL students in making paper poppies for the library and the school garden, making ANZAC biscuits, learning about the SHS students who fought in World War One and watching the movie ‘The Water Diviner’.
From the students:
‘ANZAC Day is to remember the soldiers who fought and died in World War One and to show them respect. We commemorated this day by making poppies which are a symbol of their spilled blood and also a reminder of the battle fields in France where they fought, which was full of poppies in Spring time.’
