Social Skills Targets

Social skills might include things like initiating conversations, making friends, having good sportsmanship, and handling bullying effectively. Social skills are one of the most important skills children and adolescents develop, as they often serve as predictors of future success.

At CSPS we believe these skills are just as important as literacy and numeracy and have made them an integral part of our teaching and learning.  Each class focuses on a social skill that is relevant to the class level at a particular point in time. Look for the target picture displayed in your child's classroom for the focus skill of the week.

Whole School BLITZ on Language

For the last 3 weeks of Term 3, students at CSPS have had a strong focus on THINK before you speak.  Classes entered a video competition to model how students at CSPS speak kindly to one another using THINK. The winners of our video modelling competition were FA!!!! Well done FA! Also a very special mention to Mrs Chiovitti for her work in spotting students speaking kindly to each other!!!!!

COMPASS Positive Acknowledgements

Check your compass notifications for Positive Acknowledgements of your child showing the 4 Ps. Every 10 points earns your child a reward at school (determined by the class).  If your child receives 100 points, a special postcard will be sent home in the mail to show off to friends and family.
