Middle School Report

Middle School News
As teachers we see students everyday. Some are fresh and happy in the morning and others are slow risers. Spending time with the students on camps are opportunities that teachers and students can learn a lot about themselves and others. The year 7 transition camp allows students to meet others, work with others in groups, climb heights and push themselves to do challenges that they may never have experienced before. Teachers have the opportunity to get to know students in their groups and appreciate all the different personalities. Teachers see resilience, perseverance, acceptance and respect and this makes the camps enjoyable even with a lack of sleep.
I would like to thank the teachers who went and supported myself and the students on camp. Mr Arnold, Mr Allen, Mr McGlynn, Miss Pauer, Miss Humphries, Miss McMahon, Mis Parnaby, Miss Papadopoulos, Miss Hodgkinson, Mr Bailey. Also Mr Smith and Mrs Anderson for visiting and the office ladies for all the behind the scenes help.
Lastly thank-you students for being so enthusiastic, even after the heat, hikes and heights. I was proud of how you represented Wheelers Hill Secondary College at Kinglake Camp.
Welcome our new students in Year 8 and Year 9
We have many new students starting at Wheelers Hill Secondary College in Years 8 and 9. I ask all students to welcome them and help them when they need directions to classrooms or offices to find teachers.
Reminders
School Resources
The students are well into their studies and learning and I would like all students to make sure that they have the correct equipment needed for their classes. Please fix any issues with your parents so that you are always ready to learn.
CAT's
The first CAT's will be starting or nearing completion in the next couple of weeks. This will give students and parents the opportunity to see how they are going with learning in their subjects. The results will be in the Learning Tasks Tab on Compass.
Absences
If your child is having an absence for any reason could you please make sure that you ring the absence hotline. If you go away for an extended time could you please let the teachers and school know that this is going to occur.
Thankyou
