Meet… Miss Lindsey Birch, Primary Wellbeing Coordinator
Tell us a little about you.
I'm originally from Queensland (so I get cold very easily). My family became missionaries to the Solomon islands when I was a teenager. After many adventures to various islands (Fiji, Vanuatu, and later, Hawaii), I studied a Chaplaincy degree at Avondale College before joining the team here at Heritage College last year.
What book are you reading, or what would we find on your podcast list?
I just finished a book called 'Building a Discipleship Culture' by Mike Breene. I love learning more about the Bible - whether that be theology, ministry, history, or even a well-research novel based on the life of a Bible Character. My very favourite author is Terri L. Fivash who has written the best stories based on the lives of Joseph, Ruth and Boaz, and King David.
Who inspires you and why? What is a quote that has inspired you over the years?
I love this quote by Padesky, "Because sometimes if you are too confident of where you are going, you only look ahead and miss detours that can lead you to a better place."
What would you like the parent community to know about you?
I can't wait to get to meet you! Starting soon, we'll be able to catch up in an after-school, parents-only space on campus. Then you'll get to experience first-hand why your kids might say, "that Miss Lindsey - she's really fun!"
When you're not at Heritage College, what do you do in your downtime?
I love to sew! I also love going out in nature, journaling (which sometimes turns into poetry), singing at the top of my lungs, and hugs. Lots of hugs.
