2019 brings exciting times for the Visual Arts Program starting with some moving!

The Primary School Visual Arts Program will be taught in Room 1 this year. We look forward to transforming this space and the opportunity to showcase your child’s work throughout the year. The relocation of the Visual Art teaching and learning facilities allows for greater connection with the Primary community and improved facilities for the boys.

This Term the students will be focusing on identity in preparation for their entry into the state wide celebration of DreamBIG 2019 (formally the ComeOut Festival). The exhibition will be held at the Prospect Gallery and the invitation for exhibiting has been extended to local primary school.

The exhibition is titled “Wonder”, and the leading description states WE ALL EAT CAKE. Mr. Stanborough and I hope to showcase our student creativity and diversity of our school community.

In coming days there will be a donations crate out the front of Room 1 and list of items that the teachers are collecting for student projects will be placed above.

Currently we are requesting donations for 2 litre milk containers – please ensure they are clean.

The Senior Visual Art and Design Program will be spreading its wing this year in to Studio 3. We are excited to be moving into the space as it will allow the increasing number students participating in our program to greater gain access and ownership of the senior studio. Students will be able to work more freely on easels and store their work at school. Students will be encouraged to work on their work during timetable free lessons. We hope this space will become a hive of energy and creativity and look forward to productivity of our talented art students this year.

Yours in the Arts,

Emily Kenny
