PEER SUPPORT

School for Student Leadership - Casual Day & Sausage Sizzle

Year 9 Students who participated in the School for Student Leadership (Haining Farm) in Term 2 recently completed their Community Learning Project (CLP). This involved some volunteer work at Impact for Women as well as raising money through a casual day and sausage sizzle to support the work of this organisation. Impact for Women provides practical support to families escaping domestic violence. The students raised a total of $1430. Many thanks to all in the school community who supported this initiative and congratulations to Fred, Tess, Emanuel, Matilda, Annellie, Flynn and Alec for completing your CLP.

The School for Student Leadership residential program will be offered again to Year 9 students in 2023. We have 7 places at the Snowy River campus in Term 3. More details about the application process will be provided in March.

2023 Peer Support Leaders

40 Year 9 students recently participated in two days of training with the wellbeing team to become our Peer Support leaders in 2023. These students are involved in the Grade 6 Orientation days and will continue building supportive connections with our in-coming Year 7s through Transition classes at the start of each day and as a 6-session Peer Support program in Term 1. Our new Peer Support leaders can be very proud of the way they have participated in the training event and Orientation days so far.
