Junior School Shopfront Christmas Appeal

Shopfront Christian Service Excursion

When we arrived at The Shopfront after that 11min drive that felt like forever, we all got into somewhat of a line waiting for Damian Walsh, Shopfront Director, to come and say hello. When we came in, we were nervous. We then started talking about what the Shopfront does and who they serve food to. He then told us a story of a person who had a Mercedes Benz and had 3 kids going to Hale and still needed food to feed his family!

We then started to ask questions about things like who sits here usually and what was the most dangerous thing that has happened. Damian then let us go and look around. We went to the pantry to begin with, and it was an unnerving sight to see how much they had left. There were more empty crates and shelves than full crates and shelves. I then went to the surveillance room and had some fun with the cameras.

After that Damian called us back and he said that they would run out of cans by the end of this month and they would not get any till March next year, so they would have to relay on all the donations given to them from Trinity to get them through. On the way out we saw a woman coming out of her car. The car seemed to be where she lived. This trip reminded us how lucky and fortunate we are to have a roof over our head and enough food to feed our families.
