French news from Preppies

Look how far our little Preppies have progressed in two terms of French! They can respond to 'comment ça va?' They also know their colours and can count to 20! 

Recently, they completed a unit on La poule Maboule, the story of Chicken Little. Using characters, common verbs and locations from the play, our Prep students were able to make simple sentences. 

Year 5 French Bakery

How much fun have we had in Year 5 French this term? Students have had the chance to role play and taste real French pastries!

In Year 5 French, our topic for this term was La Boulangerie (Bakery). We learnt about French pastries that are served in France. We spent a few weeks practising role play in a boulangerie with a partner. 

The highlight of this topic was when Madam Mullins arranged for us to eat some delicious French pastries. We were able to choose from éclairs, millefeuille (multi-layered pastry slice), beignet a la vanille (vanilla donut) and many other pastries. It was delicious! Yum yum!
