Swimming

Swimming Program

Our Swimming program was a huge success this year. Throughout the two week program our students worked well to improve overall confidence in the water, swimming skills and knowledge about water safety. We were lucky to have Lyn Young volunteer to test as many students as possible to assess their swimming levels. At the indoor pool, our beginners and learners did a great job, whilst we also had many students at the outdoor pool really pushing themselves in regards to stamina, fitness and learning correct technique.

Last Friday we completed our Swimming Program with the Pool Picnic, a day where all of our school community was invited to attend and celebrate our students swimming efforts. Students enjoyed all of the rotational activities which gave them an opportunity to practice their learnt skills. The House Relay Race was won by Green House with Gold House a very close second. Green House Swimmers were Arthur Smith, Jackson Jenner, Bridget Brown and Mitchell Harvey. The race was a great spectacle as the whole school community watched, supported their houses and cheered. It was the same awesome atmosphere for the Adults versus Students Race, which the students won. Well done to all involved here!

Thank you to all of our volunteers including parents, helpers and Numurkah Secondary Students. Also, a huge well done to our House Captains who lead by example throughout the entire two week program.
