Attention All Mathematicians!

We are ready to count, add, subtract, divide and problem solve!

Numeracy (Maths) is a crucial part of our teaching and learning at NPS, as teachers and students work daily to improve their Numeracy knowledge and skills.

We learn how to use a variety of mental strategies, such as counting forward or backwards to solve problem tasks. Our students also use concrete materials such as counters to support them with their visual understanding of concepts being explored.

Our students also work hard to build their automatic response to number, which means learning things off by heart, such as Times Tables. We are all looking forward to a brilliant year challenging out thinking in Numeracy at Numurkah Primary School!

So, remember the words of Albert Einstein (yes, he was actually a mathematician):  "A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new."
