2018-2019 Staffing
I hope everyone is enjoying the summer. We can't wait to hear about your summer fun when we see you and your families in September.
Our caretaking team is working hard to ensure that the building is in tip top shape for September 2018. We thank them for their work this summer.
A special welcome to our second Vice-Principal - Michael Sanders. Michael was recently promoted to the role. He brings with him a keen interest in Mathematics, Science and Athletics. We are looking forward to Michael Sanders and Rachel Berger making meaningful contributions in service of the Northlea community.

During the last week of August, we will send an email update with additional details about our opening day. Physical Education - Asher Wittenberg, the esteemed TDESAA South Executive President, had been hired to do this role. We have been informed that Asher was recently promoted to a central role in the TDSB Physical and Health Education Department. We wish him well and know this role is well-deserved. Trustee Update
As many of you may know, Gerri Gershon is retiring from her work as Trustee. Trustee Gershon has served the Northlea community for many years. We extend deep appreciation for her commitment to our school during her time as Trustee.
As you may also know, there is a vibrant election about to take place for the Trustee role. We encourage everyone to join the conversation by getting to know the candidates, their positions and by voting on Monday, October 22nd, 2018.

Welcome to Kindergarten Playdate
We invite all of our Kindergarten families to take part in the 'Welcome to Kindergarten Playdate" on Thursday, August 23rd at 6:30 PM in the front yard play area. Thank you to Shannon Chaplin, on behalf of the Home and School Council, for hosting this event. We can't wait to welcome our early learners.

Grade 6 Sheldon Trip
Our Sheldon Outdoor Centre Field Trips have been booked. Given our large student numbers, we will continue to divide the total number of students in half and host two trips to Sheldon.
TRIP 1 - Monday, September 24th - Wednesday, September 26th, 2018.
TRIP 2 - Wednesday, September 26th -Friday, September 28th, 2018.
If you have a child going into Grade 6, please put these dates on hold and we will share further details at the start of September.

The official school year calendar for the Toronto District School Board runs from September 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019, inclusive.
- First day of classes for all students is September 4, 2018
- The last day of class for elementary students is June 27, 2019
