CHILDREN'S INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS WITH BARKING SPIDER VISUAL THEATRE

Saturday 11 March, 2.30pm–4.30pm

Children and their families are invited to join the Barking Spider Visual Theatre in these vibrant and engaging interactive workshops, which explore the concept of home, family life, identity and domestic spaces.

Age group: four to 11

Tickets: $5 per child.

Groove and Graze is a family friendly event in your own backyard!

Join us for our newest series of three events Groove and Graze where you can feast your senses with a variety of food trucks, a pop-up bar, roving performances and great DJ tunes!

PARTY IN THE PARK AND PET EXPO - ALLNUTT PARK

Date: Sunday, 19 March 10am–4pm

Location: Allnutt Park, Wheatley Road, McKinnon

 

Bring your family, friends and pets to Council’s Party in the Park and Pet Expo. Main stage entertainment will be hosted by Janet McLeod and will include live shows from Paw Patrol, Cat in the Hat as well as community performances. Come and meet roving performers Corina the Caterpillar and White Rabbit — the larger than life friendly animals. 

 

There will also be a Pet Expo showcasing various animal societies, demonstrations and products for your pets. Not to be missed is the exciting crowd-stopping animal handlers and annual Pet Parade competition at 2:20pm.

The 2017 My Brother Jack Awards, now in its 22nd year, is a wonderful opportunity for writing and photography enthusiasts to showcase their talents and be in the running for some fantastic prizes! This highly regarded competition is open to people who live, work or study in the City of Glen Eira.

 

There are prizes for short stories and poetry in the categories of Primary; Junior Secondary; Senior Secondary; and Open. There are also prizes for photography in the categories of Junior; Youth; and Open. All Early Years art and photography entries will receive a participation certificate and small gift.

 

Applications open Wednesday 8 March and close 5pm Wednesday 19 April.

The winners of each category will be announced at an Awards Ceremony on Sunday 25 June at Glen Eira Town Hall –Theatrette.
