You are the Winner of a Gold Medal

“You can sort of see it in the kids, they just sort of lose interest a bit and they just get tired. Sitting still all day in front of a laptop is really difficult for those kids.”

“School staff are also getting worn out by the unpredictable back and forth between face-to-face and remote learning, but at least know the drill better after five previous stints.”

And parents?  Who wants to write the next sentence?

I am simply grateful that my 3 children are now my adult children as I can’t imagine being a teacher working from home and parenting them at the same time. I admire you all for supporting remote learning, running the family home and perhaps even trying to work from home and so much more.

There should be an Olympic medal for these achievements ; a big gold one!

I read this the other day and I like it:

‘Things can be difficult and I can do difficult things.

I will always choose kindness and I will be kind to myself too.’

How are you being kind to yourself?

If I could be kind I would invite all the children back to OLHC tomorrow to continue learning onsite but sadly it is not within my power. However, I can call or Zoom your child for a chat and a laugh if this would be helpful during these difficult times.

Please let me know via the school office or an email.

Take care
