Lions Quiz - CANCELLED

We have been notified by the Lions Club that this year our Lions Quiz has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions at school at this current time. We are sorry to share this news with you as we were all very much looking forward to seeing our team shine. Thank you for your understanding. 

Mrs. Goodman class:

Hmmm… what do you do with two students who already know their times tables we are practicing? Ah that’s right … you set them a money addition task to work out the value of everyone’s name in the class. Challenge accepted! Challenge complete! Congratulations Nate and Jackson… teachers of themselves! 

Adopting Chicks

Our Foundation classes have been lucky enough to watch chickens hatch out of their eggs this week and have been enjoying little cuddles with the chicks as they learn about living things and their needs as part of their Inquiry unit.

There is an option for families to adopt the Chicks at no cost. They must be picked up on the 12th August. 

If you are interested in adopting the chicks please read the attached information sheets and let the office know to register your interest.  There is also a Chick Take Home pack available for $35 if needed (Details attached).

Prospective adoptees must be aware of these key points:  

• Chicken breeds are Lohmanns or Australorps
• Although chicks are layer strain, 50% will be hens and 50% will be roosters. Once chicks have been taken, they cannot be returned.
• We are unable to tell if chicks are male or female.
• Prospective owners are responsible for checking council regulations regarding keeping a backyard flock (councils vary) and for re-homing roosters.
• Chicks must go to homes in pairs or more as they are flock birds. This applies to those who already own chickens as well as first time owners.
• Take Home Packs, are recommended to those new to keeping backyard chickens.
• NOTE: Henny Penny Hatching is not able to take chicks back once they leave the venue at the end of the program on Friday 13th August.
