Principal's Update

Many thanks to all staff and families for their support with the quicker than expected return to face to face teaching this week.  While this was welcome news, I am also aware of the impact and challenge of these sudden changes for students and staff.  On behalf of us all, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all staff for the work undertaken, to prepare for the planned week of remote learning, and their quick adaptation to onsite learning when everything changed again at short notice. They truly are a wonderful team!

Thank you also to everyone for my beautiful Principal Day gifts last week, they were very  much appreciated!

Under the current restrictions, we are still required to limit the number of visitors onsite. Gatherings are also limited and, as a result, assemblies are still not able to be held.  These will continue to be held online, from classrooms, until further notice.

As previously advised, our planned activities for Book Week have also had to be postponed and will now be held in the week of the 30th August to the 3rd September.

Our planned sports program has resumed and today students in Year’s 5&6 embarked on their first day of skiing.  Many thanks to Mel and Vicky for their organisation and to all participating staff and volunteers for their assistance in delivering this program.

On Monday, students in Year’s 5&6 will also have the opportunity to participate in a revegetation project.  This previously postponed event is held with the support of the Bonhote family and Landcare.

Today, information regarding Jump Rope for Heart has been sent home with all students.  This information will guide families through the process of how to register online, in order to help raise funds for research into heart disease.  Please refer to Steph’s PE page for more information.

Information has also been sent home this week regarding the School Dental Initiative.  The Dental Van will visit our school during the week commencing the 29/11/2021.  Participating students are able to receive a full check-up, preventative and general dental care at no cost.  If you would like your child to participate, please complete the form and return this to school by Friday 3rd September.

Yesterday, a number of our families were sent a survey link for this year’s Parent /Carer /Guardian survey. We really appreciate the time it takes to complete this survey and the valuable information it provides for our school.  Please note that the closing date for completion of the survey is Friday 3rd September.
