School Cross Country

Yesterday we competed with the rain to hold our annual School Cross Country. To say that I am proud of all the students who participated would be an understatement. Cross Country is not everyone's favourite sporting activity to participate in, and yet we saw all of our students give it a go, and most of them shocked themselves when they completed their designated laps around the ovals. A massive congratulations to the Age Champions and Runners Up, and congratulations and good luck to all of the students who will be travelling to Barraba to compete at the Diocesan Cross Country Trials next Friday 6th May.

How does it work?  There are 9 rounds over 9 weeks with a Finals for A Grade categories at the end.  Players have 60 mins to complete their best four scores each week / round.  The harder the problem, the more points they're worth.  The team score is the average of all players in the team.

Can I try it out if I don't have a team?  YES.  Just turn up and we'll work it out no problems.

How do I try it out?  Youth may join through their school sport or come during the specified times. All youth are $16 for the one session before season commitment is required.  Players may join a team any time during the season.  Adult Members simply join a team or make a team.

Can I join during the season?  YES.  Best if you're in at the start but it's AOK.

Do I need to register?  YES. Online.

How many seasons per year are there?  Four.  Round one of each season starts in week one of the school term.

What do you need?  Water bottle, sanitising liquid chalk, climbing shoes and a willingness to have a go.  Hire shoes are included the registration and one bottle of $20 chalk is usually plenty for the full season.  All players need to compete the Waiver form prior to starting (part of registration process).

Can the $100 Active Kids Voucher be used? - YES.  It's built into the registration process.
