Prep 1
What's been happening?
Term 1 has been an absolute wild ride with many interruptions to our learning due to covid and staffing issues. It has been a testing time for students, staff and families but Prep 1 kept on swimming! Despite many barriers, Prep 1 has achieved so many things!
Some of the things we have been doing include:
* Learning our rules and routines
* Sitting for short group sessions including shared reading
* Name writing
* Communication on Proloquo2Go
* Learning a number of Maths skills including counting, comparing numbers, positional language and more!
* Learning about events and special days that are significant to us and relating this to our own life in History and
* Developing our fine and gross motor skills through a wide variety of activities and play based learning.
Some special events we have celebrated include birthdays, Harmony Day, Rare Disease Day and Anzac Day. We even held a ‘Meet the teacher’ evening. We hope all our families are enjoying their interactions in multiple modes. We gained a few new classmates in the two prep classes and as a result had to spend more time splitting into separate classes, but we still combine sometimes!
