Chinese
Year 6 students develop knowledge and skills in Chinese writing, oral communication and an appreciation of Chinese culture. Students learn about greetings, counting, Australian geography, favourite food and Christmas celebrations. They participate in songs, games, chants and a range of cultural activities. Students study the Chinese Pinyin phonic system and explore the use of Chinese language on the iPad.
Music
This term Year 6 students will use a variety of instruments to create performances together, both existing and composed. They will write parodies to be performed for use as their BRPS graduation song. They will also use existing and scripted drama through collaboration in groups to work towards performances. They will learn the Music: Count Us In song.
Art
This term Year 6 students will explore a unit of work on street art and through this design their own skateboard deck. They will devise an art design brief with the assistance of their iPads. This will incorporate lettering, a logo or image and various painting techniques.
P.E.
This term in Physical Education the Year Six students will be building their skills in the sports of badminton, lacrosse, T-ball and softball. Within Health, students will be researching ways to promote healthy and active communities.
