This week for our Pride and Prejudice study we broke the Year 12 cohort into groups and experimented with university-style tutorials, each focussed on a particular aspect of the text.

The four Year 12 English teachers designed specialist materials and resources for each group and tailored their teaching to the learners in front of them. The topics ranged from an introductory ‘Austen’s Regency Women’ to an advanced ‘Critical Interpretations and Analysis’.  All resources and notes were then shared across the Year 12 English Google Classrooms so every student could access them and add them to their notes.

There was animated teaching and active discussion in each of the tutorial groups and students enjoyed the opportunity to engage with a single aspect of Austen’s novel and to deepen their understanding of her world.
