Principal's Report

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE 16th – 22nd May 2023

With the colder weather really taking hold, a reminder to all families that the school uniform tops all have a logo. Students can wear a navy blue or white, long sleeved t-shirt under their school polo tops. Then there are 3 options for added warmth; a cotton-based windcheater, polar fleece zip up jacket and a waterproof zip up rain jacket. With the range of choices, students should be wearing the appropriate winter school uniform. Non-uniform items will be asked to be removed at the start of the day and should not be worn at school.

Rotary Youth Exchange

A reminder that we will be hosting an information session this Wednesday 24th May in Room 9 at 7pm. Rotary have an exchange student arriving in July and require families to help host the student. You will have the opportunity to speak directly with local families whose lives, and children’s lives, have been enhanced by being part of this wonderful program.

Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS)

It’s that time of the year again, where we ask students to provide feedback on their schooling. This annual Department survey will be completed in class time and seeks information about teaching strategies/styles, feeling safe at school, having a say in learning and connectedness to school. More information is contained in the attached letter, but if you do not wish your child to participate, please complete the ‘opt out’ process before Monday 29th May.

Mid Term 2 Progress Reports

Progress reports are currently being completed and will be released to families this Friday afternoon. These reports reflect on a student’s learning characteristics, not their academic ability; all students are expected to be able to achieve a level of 3 if they are working hard and trying their best in classes. Having good learning characteristics means that students can focus on their learning, generally leading to improved academic achievement.

School Renovations

The school office has had a makeover during the past weeks with new carpet laid, fresh coat of paint and new furniture.
