A note from Mr Jackson

Living and Growing Parent Workshop

It was a great evening on Tuesday night, gathering with 17 other members of the Rosanna Primary community to hear a little more of the Living and Growing program planned for students in Years 3 to 6. This important program provides an opportunity for our students to gain age-appropriate understandings of human development. This respectful and inclusive approach provides a firm foundation as students enter and move through puberty. These student workshops are planned for early Term 3. Please contact the classroom teacher or the office to find out how your child can be apart of these experiences. In a world full of misinformation, such opportunities as this are ever more important.

5/6 Camp Next Week

We wish campers well next week as they venture to Campaspe Downs on the 5/6 Camp. We also express our gratitude for staff and parents who are attending and enabling this opportunity for students to grow their understanding of self and independence through a range of safe adventure activities. With such a large cohort absent, a range of changes to the timetable will need to occur. We continue to seek to minimise disruptions to other classes.

Assembly Cancelled Next Week

Due to a large number of our students and staff being absent on our 5/6 Camp from Wednesday through to Friday of next week, we have decided to cancel the whole school assembly that was scheduled for Friday 9 May.

FORPS Help Out with Playgrounds

A special thanks to the FORPS fundraising effort last year, that has enabled us a chance to renew our playground equipment. After an audit earlier in the year a number of risk concerns were raised and with the help of FORPS, these concerns have been addressed.

Attendance Letters Go Home

As we prepare for the formal reporting of student achievement in the Student Reports due at the end of term, we are eager to ensure the correct attendance data is recorded. Letters concerning any unexplained absences will be sent home shortly. Attendance is the responsibility of both parents and the school and accurate and timely communication of absences is important to ensure every student’s regular attendance.

New 2024 Prep Enrolments

The Department of Education have implemented a range of changes to the enrolment practices for the incoming 2024 Prep students. These practices have included the establishment of an enrolment deadline of 28 July. This has been set to support schools to finalise Prep numbers and develop a workforce plan for the coming year. If you or a friend require further information related to enrolling, please do not hesitate to speak with myself or Ally in the office. Further information is available on our website.

To accommodate parents we have further released a number of school tours that we hope will support parents as they consider the range of schools in the area. These tours usually occur in the mornings and bookings can be made on try booking with a link on the school website. Again, please call the office if you have any further enquires.
