Study Tour from Japan!

Kate Lonergan, Languages & International Coordinator

In term 1 we welcomed back our first Study Tour from Japan since COVID-19. 14 generous families hosted 17 students from Morioka Chuo High School. Families enjoyed the week taking students to tourist sites in Adelaide such as Victor Harbor, Glenelg and the Central Markets.

At school, the Japanese students participated in a variety of activities such as fun science experiments, orienteering, cooking Anzac biscuits, learning about AFL, practicing some indigenous paintings and much more. Finally, international ambassadors at Aberfoyle Park High School had the opportunity to spend some time with the Japanese students exchanging language and culture which was great to see. A huge thank you to everyone involved!

Below is a quote from one of the families who hosted:

Ryuma was such a great kid and he fitted in so well with our family and especially with my boys, they clicked straight away. Our evenings were filled with laughter and fun and the loudest laughter came from Ryuma which made me feel so happy for them all.
