Whole School Sports Day - 9 March

Our school sports day was held on Thursday 9 March at Happy Valley Sports Park. We had a great turn out of students and started the day in high spirits. The staff House Leaders and student Sports Captains did a fantastic job at organising their Houses and getting as many people involved as they could.

All events were filled and ran smoothly throughout the day. Many students stepped in and helped out in events they were not originally in or competed in higher age groups. With points given for participation there was a real push by all Houses to get involved in as much as they could. The scores were relatively even in the middle of the day. However by the end Karla was too strong and came out in front by 271 points. Karla also won last year and are looking like the team to beat!

A big thank you to the Health & PE team for the organisation and planning of this event and to all staff and students who helped out on the day. Also to Student Voice and the Wellbeing Team for the BBQ and to Rory’s Group who staffed the canteen.

Well done to all students who received a place in their events and for everyone who participated. We are already planning and preparing for another successful Sports Day in 2024.

SSSSA Athletics

On Thursday 13 April 42 of our students went to Santos Stadium to compete in the state wide SSSSA Athletics competition. Our students were strong competitors, were respectful on and off the track and represented our school in a positive way. Many of our students made a place in multiple events and were successful in both their age group and higher.

Aberfoyle Park High School came third overall after competing against Heritage College, Mt Barker High School, Mt Compass Area School, Woodville High School, Wirreanda Secondary School and Portside Christian College and came third overall.  Well done to all students involved.
