Semester Reports - on Maestro and Compass

The new and improved semester reports will be released on the morning of Friday 23 June in the final week of term and will look a little different this year.

Year 7-10 Reports - will be in two parts:

Compass - Learning Behaviour Reports parents can download the learning behaviours reports from Compass

Maestro - Victorian Curriculum Reports will be accessible on Maestro. The Maestro report will give accurate information about a student’s Victorian Curriculum level of achievement and their achievement relative to their peers. Parents will need to log into their Maestro Accounts to access these reports. Please see the attached guide to assist you

Maestro

If you are interested to know more about Maestro and Developmental Rubrics and how to log into Maestro and how to interpret the information, I have attached a guide for parents. Please reach out if you want more information or training.

VCE Reports - On Compass

The VCE semester reports will include the learning behaviours reports and subject reports as normal.

This year the subject reports will include the S (satisfactory) and N (unsatisfactory) result for each unit and the achievement Letter Grades (from A+ to E) for each or the major SAC and SAT assessment tasks.

The reintroduction of letter grades at the end of the unit is in keeping with our practice of our students focusing on (and acting on) quality feedback during the unit to improve their learning and grades being important at the end of the learning sequence to reflect achievement.

More information about these grades will accompany the reports.

Respectful Relationship

This year as part of the RRRR program we continue to raise awareness and celebrate local and global issues around gender inequity and gender diversity. This term we have two main events running:

1. IDOHOBIT day - this week we celebrated the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia - with a great do-now activity in class and lunchtime activities with our LGBTQIA+ Alliance group. We thank Mitzi Flanders and Rebecca Howell for their leadership, organisation and support for our Alliance group.

2. One-Girl 'Do it in a Dress' Fundraiser Event -term 2 Fundraiser

One Girl is a local charity was co-founded several years ago by passionate young people in Melbourne inspired to make a difference to girls’ education. Their mission is to raise funds for young girls in Sierra Leone to remove the many cultural and social barriers to participating in education and achieve better life outcomes.

One Girl - Do It In A Dress Campaign

Friday 9 June

Did you know that MORE THAN 132 MILLION GIRLS AROUND THE WORLD ARE DENIED AN EDUCATION simply because they are a girl?

This problem is very real for girls in Sierra Leone with nearly 40% of girls married before they turn 18.

Please donate to our campaign and help address this inequity. Our goal is $1000 and  All donations, big and small, can be made here

On Friday 9 June teachers will be invited to wear a Wantirna College School dress for the day to reflect our commitment and awareness of this important issue.

There will be a guest speaker from One Girl present on how they make a difference. Our RRRR Student Ambassadors will prepare some ‘do-now’ classroom activities so students can learn more about this issue and a staff vs student Dodge-ball game in the gym.
