Unit 3 Theatre Studies

A Woman Of No Importance

The Year 12 Unit 3 and 4 Theatre Studies class has just completed their production of the play 'A Woman of No Importance' by Oscar Wilde. The class completed two shows at the start of May doing all the preparation work in the lead up to the performances in Term 1.

The play was all student-run with the help of Ms Birrell. This play was directed by Orion Rigano with his interpretation and twists within the play. The director decided to keep the production in the Victorian era which all the actors and designers of the production then worked with creating amazing lighting, costume, set, sound, make-up, and props.

The play is based at an English country house following the story of Mrs Arbuthnot and her son Gerald as they face judgement and scandal. The members of the class went through all the stages of what a professional production would go through and learned how everything would work together to create such an amazing show. Everyone did just an amazing job of the show and put in lots of hard work!!
