Eye Testing

"Vision is important for learning and development. To start the school year right, we recommend having all children's vision checked from the age of 3 -5 years old to ensure that they are ready to engage in learning.  Children are never too young to have their eyes tested, with different methods undertaken for different ages. We Bulk Bill all children's eye exams and ensure that there are no underlying eye conditions which could hinder learning; such as binocular vision disorders, colour vision deficiencies or even simple vision corrections to reduce the risk of abnormal visual development resulting in long standing reduced vision (amblyopia). With modern technological advances and an increase in screen time, we want to educate children and parents about screen time, and how this can impact vision, encouraging children to spend at least two hours outdoors each day to reduce the risks of developing short-sightedness (myopia).
