Around The School - Mr Flynn, Assistant Principal

Ash Wednesday Mass

Last Wednesday we attended Mass as a whole school to mark Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Thanks to Fr Anthony for celebrating Mass for us and to Mrs Bearman for organising. The reverence and respect shown by the students was excellent. A particular thank you to our Year 6 students who did a fantastic job modelling the expectations to their Kindergarten buddies.

STEM Activities

On Friday afternoons Stage 3 have been experimenting with some basic coding as part of their STEM activities. They have been learning to code Spheros (device operated spheres) to follow directions using drawing and block code. At lunchtimes students can also experiment with our new Mindstorm Robotic Lego  kits that have been purchased for our STEM programs.

Chess Club

On Mondays and Wednesdays Mrs McNeill has kindly volunteered her time to run Chess Club for any student who plays Chess along with any students who are wanting to learn to play Chess.

Year 6 McCarthy Catholic College Talk

Last Tuesday Mr McManus, the Principal of McCarthy Catholic College came to our school to speak to the Year 6 students about their transition to High School. He was impressed with their questions and manners and gave some important advice as to what they need to be doing to start getting ready for High School.

Have a wonderful week everyone !!
