Reshape our Future Youth Forum
On the 10th of June, alongside Miss Steele & Mr Acebron, fifteen year 7-9 class captains & SRC members attended the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria ‘Reshape Our Future’ Youth Forum at Melbourne Museum. This was a fun, informative and powerful event for young people aged 12-25. Students heard from several guest speakers, including VIC SRC representatives, a Youth Disability Advocacy Young Leader, the Hume City Council Young Citizen of the Year, activists, and advocates. They learnt about how to make a difference on the issues they care about and got to network with students from other schools.

International Student Buddy Program
This term, we have had several new students start at Box Hill High School. These students have only recent arrived in Australia. 11 junior class captains and SRC members have volunteered their time to be a buddy for these new students. They have attended lunchtime sessions, participated in a getting to know you ‘Aussie food’ themed lunch, attended lunchtime club sessions and have been a friendly face inside and outside of class for these new students.
A big thankyou to Ms Tran for organising this lunchtime induction program to help our new international junior students settle into the BHHS community and to the following class captains who have exemplified our school values through this program:
Senior Leadership Development Afternoon
On Wednesday 20th July, Year 12 Prefects, Year 11 Leaders and interested year 10 leaders met and undertook a leadership development and networking afternoon. Leadership is more than filling positions and sticking to what’s been done in the past, it’s about striving to do things better than what has been done before.
The purpose of the afternoon was to help our senior student leaders to step up and ‘raise the standard’ of leadership at BHHS by:
