LAEL STONE – Parent Presentation
It has been wonderful to partner with The Resilience Project and have the fabulous Lael Stone present to our families in Term 3 reminding us how we can be the ‘anchor for our young people when they are having an emotional storm’. Lael is passionate about creating wellness in families through connection and communication.
NAIDOC Youth Campfire, Simone Thomson
Across the term students and staff have been celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander achievements and sharing cultural stories. BHHS joined with other inner east schools for a day with Eddie Betts at Forest Hill College to discuss how schools can improve embedding cultural awareness. Each week we shared different discussion prompts around the school from unpacking the Uluru Statement from the heart to who your favourite Indigenous performer is and Aboriginal Children’s Day. To end the term we are excited to have Simone Thomson return to share with our students the mural she created with students ideas in our stairwell and storytelling that informed the work.
Wear it Purple
Students and staff painted their nails purple in support of our young rainbow community for Wear it Purple day.
R U Ok? Day
This year over 170 students participated in BHHS R U Ok? Day adding to a mural of how BHHS students connect and check in with their friends which will be on display for the year.
