HOOP TIME 2022 - Year 5/6

Last week on Thursday, the Year 5/6 students went to MSAC to participate in Hooptime. Everyone played very well and tried their hardest and showed great sportsmanship. The All Stars Girls played some great games. First, we played St Catherine’s and sadly we lost 4-6. Next we played St Joseph’s Elsternwick and we won 8-16. Our next game was against a different St Joseph’s Elsternwick team. It was a very close game but sadly we lost again 2-4. For our last game we played St Columba’s and we won 8-4. Our All Star Girls team made it to the grand final against St Columba’s. Again, it was a very close game for the first half but St Columba’s took the lead and won 12-4. St Columba’s played very well and we are very happy for them. It was a fun day and everyone loved it, especially because this is only the first or second time participating in hoop time.

The All Star Boys also played very well. First they played St Columba’s and beat them 25 to 4. This gave us confidence for the next games. In the next game we played St Josephs. It was a very close game but we were able to pull it off in the second half and beat them 7 to 12. In the last game before the finals we played St James’ and for the whole game it was very close, but with some late goals by Jack and Hugo, we managed to beat them 13 to 12. Then in the grand final we lost to St Mary’s 17 to 40. They had some very good players and we wish them luck in the next round.

Future Stars:

The Future Stars team played four games. They played against St James’, St Catharine’s, St Columba’s and St Mary’s. There were two Future Stars teams. The Future Stars teams played very well and they won against St Columba’s
