Persuasive Writing:  What's in the Box?

"To begin our persuasive writing unit this term, ​1/2E were faced with the challenge of convincing me to open a mystery box that arrived in the classroom!  First, every student shared a reason why we should open the box. Then, each student composed a compelling argument to convince me further! We later read our writing to each other before we FINALLY opened the box! We were all excited to discover that it was the latest picture book in the series, 'Do Not Open This Book!' by Andy Lee. I think it's safe to say that it was one of the most exciting writing lessons ever! 🙌"
