Book Week 2020

This years Book Week theme is ‘Curious Creatures’. Book Week 2020 at MPRPS will take place in Week 5 of this term (2-6 November). Teachers will have some exciting activities planned, including some virtual incursions with authors and illustrators! Book Week dress up day will be Friday 6th November. All students are welcome to come dressed as their favourite book character to celebrate the week, or dressed within the ‘creatures’ theme. We look forward to seeing all the exciting costumes!

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask your child’s teacher.

Managing Unwell Students

1. If a child is unwell, even with the mildest of symptoms, they must stay at home If a child becomes unwell during the day, they must be collected from school/early childhood education and care (ECEC) as soon as possible.

2. If a child has any of the symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) outlined below, however mild, they should get tested and they must remain at home until they receive their results:

• fever

• chills or sweats

• cough

• sore throat

• shortness of breath

• runny nose

• loss of sense of smell or taste.

In certain circumstances headache, muscle soreness, stuffy nose, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea may also be considered symptoms.

 3. A child must stay at home until they are symptom free, even if their coronavirus (COVID-19) test is negative. If a person has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) they must isolate until they receive clearance from the Department of Health and Human Services. If a person is a close contact of someone who has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) the Department of Health and Human Services will get in contact to tell them they are a close contact of a person who is confirmed to have coronavirus (COVID-19).

4. Children do NOT need a medical certificate before returning to school/ECEC. Once symptoms have cleared,

there is no requirement from the Department of Education and Training or DHHS for children/students to have a medical certificate before they return to school/ECEC.

Sentral Payments

Sentral is our number one point of contact with all families and we are slowly moving toward to using it to its full potential. Due to this we will now be processing payments for excursions/incursions through Sentral. You will notice now on your dashboard a 'Payments' section available which is where you will go to access any payments due when necessary. There is also an FAQ available through your dashboard where you can find out more information on how to pay and process payments through Sentral. We will still be using QKR for the Education Essential Items and Uniform for this year and going forward next year for Uniform.

Please contact Ally in reception if you have any questions.
