Student borrowing:

I am delighted to report the high level of students requesting resources through our online Library catalogue. The Junior School students are managing this well even at Prep and Year 1 level. While it is not a simple process it is a safe process and that is the focus of the operating practice we have adopted in both our school library branches. Reading is such an important skill and having access to materials chosen by the students themselves is a great way to foster curiousity. The main issue we have now is that some books are way overdue and for some of our senior students they may be locked inside lockers from the end of Term 1. Any books that have been finished with can be returned on either campus. There will be no charges to accounts until there are more opportunities to get materials back to us.

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge:

The Challenge closing date has been extended. Here is the message from the organisers:

“Challenge closing date extended

In light of the disruptions you and your students have faced due to coronavirus (COVID-19), the 2020 Premiers’ Reading Challenge has been extended by two weeks.

We hope the extension gives your students more time to finish reading their books and gives you more time to prepare for the end of this year's Challenge.

The 2020 Challenge will now close on Friday 18 September.”

I am currently unable to log in! I will be sorting that out today – my apologies to the Novikov family.
