News

Dear Parents and Friends,

Bring on the end of Term 2! I must admit that this term has probably been the biggest rollercoaster ride of my career. The term began on Day 1 with 6 students and 6 staff at school and over 200 students scattered all over Richmond and beyond. The day was very hectic and surreal with a few  teething problems. Over the next few weeks we all settled into a nice routine of remote learning and then the return to school was announced which once again caused many to feel unsettled. Finally it was great to welcome everyone back and have the school together again, but then last week we were faced with something even more challenging. It's so hard to believe all the challenges we have faced this term but having said all that, I feel very privileged and excited to be leading this wonderfully cohesive and positive community for the next while. At this point I have no idea how long this will be for, but if anything changes I will notify you asap. Annabelle Marinelli will continue in the role as Acting Deputy Principal.

As we move into Term 3 we hoped to be allowed to return to school assemblies, incursions and excursions but we will need to wait for the Victorian Government guidelines to be released. So until further notice next term, we will continue with the present drop off and pick up arrangements and the office will remain closed. Unfortunately parents and carers will still not be permitted into our school.

The end of the term will finish tomorrow at 1:30pm and resume again on Monday 13th July. Please note the 2 student free days on 6th and 7th August, 2020.

Great News

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Anna Plackett's (Prep/1AP) baby boy born on Sunday morning. Anna and her partner Jack are over the moon that George John Nunan weighing 3.94kg arrived safely and is doing well. How beautiful he is.

No Lunch orders next term

The cafe who supplies our lunch orders has not reopened, therefore there will be no lunch orders until further notice.

Child Safety

Earlier this term as part of Trinity’s commitment to Child Safety and following the government requirements for all schools, a Child Safety Policy (for students) was shared at an SRC meeting with all Trinity School Leaders.

The policy was explained and discussed so that its purpose and the information contained in it was clear and understood by all students. An opportunity was also given for any questions or concerns the students had to be answered.

Each class SRC captain and vice then presented the Child Safety Policy to their class which  was also supported by the teacher.

Technology holiday guide for parents

By Martine Oglethorpe

As holidays approach, the role that screens and devices will play becomes an increasing concern for parents. Days when kids are usually tied up with school and activities make way for many an idle hour and, as such, parents fear those hours will be spent largely engaged with a screen or gaming console. While there is certainly no harm in some well-balanced screen time and developmentally appropriate online activities, we must remember that, as parents, we have an important role in helping our kids manage and balance that screen time. Here are a few things we can do:

Wishing everyone a wonderful break and looking forward to a whole new Semester 2.
