Principal News

Today would have been the opening of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

We remember the feats of a courageous athlete and human being who stood in solidarity in 1968 when the world demanded it.

May we have the courage to live lives worthy of the faith we profess and stand in solidarity with the last, the least and the left out.

St Mary of the Cross, pray for us

St Marcellin Champagnat, pray for us

Venerable Catherine McAuley, pray for us

And may we always remember, to pray for each other.

Dear Parents, Students and Friends

Welcome back everyone to another school term. We are all watching developments with Covid-19 and at the moment, the NSW Heath authorities are yet to make major changes to plans that affect schools. I remind everyone that good hygienic practices and staying away from school if you have cold or flu symptoms and if needed get tested or seek medical attention for the safety of yourself and others.

I am attending weekly update meetings with Catholic Education, Wagga on what can and cannot be done at school and if the present arrangements change you will be informed.

Term Three is the final academic term for our Year 12 students and they will soon commence their HSC Trials. All year groups have now had feedback with all reports for years 7-10 emailed home over the holidays. Parent/Teacher/Student conferences are planned as Zoom meetings for Wednesday 29th July from 3:45-7pm. Parents can book appointments on Compass. Connected to this, Semester One Awards assemblies will not take place this time, nevertheless, award certificates will be distributed in Homerooms and students achieving honours will be acknowledged in the next Newsletter.

Next week, Year 10 will complete their Minimum Standards tests in Reading, Writing and Numeracy. The cohort have had a successful practice this week and we are confident they are prepared and we wish them well.

Also coming up on the calendar, are the School Photos will be going ahead as planned with Master School Portraits on Thursday August 6.

On Wednesday  College Vice-Captain, Julia Forner represented students at the liturgical reception for Bishop Mark Edwards. Bishop Mark was in Griffith last weekend and met many of the parishioners of this region. At the Sacred Heart Parish “La Festa” luncheon, the College presented him a welcome video and a Rosary Bouquet, which was 300 decades of the Rosary the students prayed for him and his work with us in the diocese.

Lord, we pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide Bishop Mark with his ministry to the people of the Diocese of Wagga Wagga.

Mary Help of Christians, pray for us.
