HOUSE ATHLETICS
The House Athletics Carnival for 2023 was held over two days. The days were very successful, with perfect weather and everyone had a fantastic time! The first day, on Thursday 20th July, Valkstone students competed in the track events at Duncan MacKinnon. The second day, on Wednesday 26th July, students competed in the field events. The field day was also held at Duncan MacKinnon.
There were many outstanding results recorded across the track and field events. Students had a wonderful day at the field events competing in the shot put, discus, high jump, long jump and triple jump. Students were running their hardest in the 100-m & 200-m sprints and the long distance events, 800-m and 1500-m.
Thanks must go out to all of the parent helpers who assisted on the day, our amazing house captains and our ES staff. Without your support, the day would simply not happen. Thanks to all of the teachers who were involved, you all did an outstanding job! We also had some year 9 students from McKinnon Secondary, thank you for your assistance with measuring!
Congratulations to all students on your participation, sportsmanship and incredible skills over the two marvelous days!
Here are the house rankings across the track & field days!
Congratulations BANKSIA house for coming 1st place!
We wish our school athletics team the best of luck when they compete at the MPSSA Athletics Carnival on Monday 4th September at Duncan MacKinnon Athletics track. The team will be announced in the school newsletter in the following weeks. Please see in this newsletter a list of new 2023 school records for VPS in Athletics.
Thank you,
