Brooke's Message

Friday 11th August

Dear Parents/Carers,

Bunji

I know that I’m biased, but I think it's time to celebrate ‘again’ the incredible impact our beautiful well-being dog, Bunji, continues to have on our staff and students.  I’m finding it hard to believe that he is about to turn 2!

Bunji’s presence brings comfort and companionship to staff members and students and his wagging tail has a unique ability to brighten up anyone's day, making our school a more inviting and caring environment.  Whether it's giving high-fives or cuddling up during a difficult day, Bunji's intuitive understanding of the emotional needs of individuals is truly remarkable.

Numerous studies have shown the positive effects of interacting with animals on mental well-being, and Bunji is the living embodiment of that research.  Bunji has become an essential resource for students experiencing feelings of stress or anxiety, providing a safe space for them to relax, unwind, and open up.  Bunji's presence in our school has created a calming atmosphere, fostering a sense of security and emotional support for all of us!

Brooke’s Barbers ✂️💈

This week I decided to try a career change and was ably supported by some beautiful young ladies who agreed to indulge me for 30 minutes.  While I feel that my small chit chat about ‘holidays’ and ‘boy’ talk went well, the verdict is still out on my hairdressing skills!

It is the most important part of my role when I’m able to connect in small fun ways with your young people.  Thank you Jasmine, Summer and Amy.

Bike Program

We are finally up and running; such an exciting program to roll out, thank you Monika, Taylor and Ethan.

In the coming weeks, the team and students will work out how they would like this space to look and we will try and accommodate with fun road markings and visuals.  A watch this space moment!

Further to the road markings for the bike program we are considering the installation of some creative and fun visuals around the school, as part of this discussion we were asked by the students for 4 square grids, which we have temporarily marked out for them – they appear to be a hit!

I am excited to share with you the imagery decision in the coming weeks.

Best wishes,

Brooke
