Wellbeing in the Classroom

Year Prep 

  • What do emotions look like, sound like and feel like?
  • Practicing the expressions of emotions and describing how we feel in particular situations.

Year 1/2

  • Recognising and describing emotions and talking about when, how and with whom it is appropriate to share emotions.
  • Describing ways to make friends and how our actions and words can help or hurt others and the effects of modifying our behaviour.
  • Using the skills required for participation in group tasks.

Year 3/4

  • Identifying how persistence and adaptability can be used when we find ourselves in challenging situations and change.
  • Identifying conflicts that may occur in peer groups and discussing possible causes and how they can be resolved independently and as a group.

Year 5/6

  • Identifying the skills for working independently and describing their performance when attempting and completing independent tasks.
  • Describe what it means to be confident, adaptable and persistent and why these attributes are important in dealing with new or challenging situations.
