Years Five/Six News

History Box Incursion

Last week, we were lucky enough to have Barry and Cynda come in to run a History Box incursion for the 5/6s. The students learnt about the real story of the landing at Gallipoli as well as some infamous Australians who were involved in the war efforts.

Some lucky students were lucky enough to dress up in some WWI inspired costumes.

Some of the activities were creating ANZAC medals out of clay, playing with some mystery items from WWI and looking at propaganda posters, using ink and quills to practice writing letters and playing some old games that the soldiers were known to play in the trenches.

The 5/6s had a wonderful morning and learnt so much about the ANZACs and the First World War.

Thanks, Barry and Cynda!
