Years Three/Four News 

Over the past couple of weeks the 3/4 students have been learning about money. We have been exploring the values of our notes and coins, adding totals and calculating change.

Students have also been using My Numeracy as part of Essential Assessment to further practice their skills and increase their understanding. To complete the unit, students put into action everything they have been learning by working with a partner to create their own 'shop'. They had to make items to sell at their shop and then had the opportunity to do some shopping (with plastic money of course!). There were some fantastic conversations about what their shop items were worth and even some haggling to get the prices down! It was a fantastic learning experience that allowed students to build their numeracy skills through real-life application.
