ANZAC Day

This week we learnt about ANZAC Day and why it is important that we remember those men and women who helped to keep us and our country safe. 

We made Poppies to show our support and commemorate the day.

Cultural Diversity Project

As part of our Term 2 topic of Intercultural Capability, Year 1 is identifying and discussing cultural diversity within our school community. We have looked at the origins of every family in our classroom.  With this new knowledge, we made little people and dressed each figure in a national flag and included a picture of our faces, to represent our diverse heritage and culture. 

Next week we are learning more about our culture through an Incursion which will include Bollywood Dancing, China Lion Dancing and Indigenous Australian artefacts and presentations.
