Mother's day

Mother's day will be celebrated on Sunday 9th May in Australia. The NMPS P&F association usually runs a special stall for the occasion, allowing students to purchase a little gift for a mother or other special female role model in their lives. Unfortunately, this has been difficult to organise this year with COVID safe guidelines to consider.

We recognise that this is a special day for many families and would like to suggest some ways that students of our school can create a little something for all of the special women in our lives.

Create a Card

Go on a quick walk around the garden or to the park and pick up interesting leaves you find along the way. Use the leaves or even bits of paper cut out of magazines to make up a special Mother's day card. Try some of the ideas below or get creative and make your own!

Create a story of why you love your mum or special carer.

Download the template below or simply make up one of your own to tell mum all about why you love her.

Other Ideas

  • Create an afternoon tea with treats to share
  • Take a walk together
  • Put on a bath or create a relaxation space for mum to relax and chill out
  • Ask if there are any jobs around the house or garden that you can help with
  • Let mum choose a movie to watch as a family
  • Ask mum about what it was like for her when she was your age. what did she like to do, who were her friends, what was school like?
