Term 4 Happenings
The STEM Faculty was excited to welcome back students on site in Week 4. It has been great to see all of our classes live and in person after so many weeks of learning from home.
We have been working hard to get back to normal – with classes engaging in lessons about a range of subjects. Science classes are excited to be back in the lab conducting a range of interesting experiments. TAS classes are back in kitchens and workshops enjoying a range of practical projects. Year 10 classes in Maths have been focusing on preparation for Stage 6 mathematics courses next year.
TAS Practical Projects
Students have been focused on practical projects and developing a range of hands-on skills since returning to learning at school. Practical work currently being completed in classes includes looking at garden hacks and growing food from existing products, check out this lettuce!
Goodbye Year 12
At the end of week 4 staff farewelled their Year 12 2021 classes. All teachers enjoyed the extra time we were able to spend with our students at the start of Term 4 working on site conducting workshops to give all students that extra preparation before the HSC examinations commenced. By the time this newsletter is published all students will have completed their exams and should be enjoying a well deserved break after a challenging year.
Mrs O’Neill, Mr Wheeldon and Ms Brady would like to say well done to their Year 12 Maths classes. You have all worked hard over the last two years to develop your mathematical mastery and we wish you all the best for the future.
Miss Hardy, Dr Bailey and Mrs Koswanage would like to say how proud they are of the work the students in Year 12 Science classes have completed. Goodbye and good luck!
Mrs Hughes, Mr Rennex and Mr Garrard would like to congratulate the students in their Year 12 TAS classes on completing their courses and the major works for Timber and Textiles.
Mrs Wilkes and Mr Bonelli are pleased with the work of the students in their Year 12 VET classes – congratulations on gaining competencies, and we hope you now have a head start on your careers.
Lockdown Legends!
Mrs O’Neill and Ms Ruzicka asked all staff to nominate those students who were engaged and focused during learning from home. The STEM Faculty would like to acknowledge these amazing students – we are so proud of how you persevered with your learning at home during an incredibly challenging period.
