Congratulations Miss Brabham and Year Two

Miss Simone Brabham has walked 102 km in one month for the JDRF One Walk Challenge to raise money for research into juvenile diabetes.  The Year Two class and Miss Brabham also walked a combined 105 km. Over $874.00 was raised for this important cause; an amazing effort!

2021 Virtual Art Exhibition

In an exciting development, this year’s Junior School Art Exhibition will be a virtual affair.  In Week 8 (22 to 26 November), parents and grandparents will be able to access a link and view Junior School student art work with themes including Australian birds, surrealist paintings and mixed media birds. A thank you to Mrs Cameron and Mr Leversha for all their hard work in preparing the virtual exhibition.

MS Marathon Readathon

Congratulations to Prep student Eva Solum who has raised over $932.00 and read 114 books in the month of August for the 2021 MS Readathon. Funds raised from the MS Readathon will help fund vital support services, like the special MS Family Camps and Family Fun Days. These camps provide an opportunity for children who have a parent living with multiple sclerosis to spend quality time with their family, learn more about multiple sclerosis and bond with other children who are sharing their journey. Well done Eva.

Myrniong Roses

On returning to the Junior School after the welcome long weekend break, the first of the 2021 roses have started to bloom in the wonderful Myrniong driveway. The life cycle of a rose can be related to our own.  We go through phases of growth, pruning and rough winters that can leave us bare but in the end, we (like roses) will regrow and prosper again. Since ancient times roses have been grown for their fragrance, beauty, and healing properties. In other words, roses act as a metaphor for life. If we look back over the last two years, and the impact of COVID 19, we have overcome difficulties and, as school life returns to some semblance of normality, we have renewed harmony, union, and happiness.

“Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses.” – Alphonse Karr
