School Council
This week we had our last meeting with the current School Council members. I want to thank all of our Council members for their contribution to policy development, feedback, and ideas to ensure our school continues to be a great school for all. Thank you to Fiona, Melody, Kristy, and Thu for their support over the years. I would like to acknowledge Thu’s contribution over seven years, not just on Council but for always being there for our Vietnamese community and helping with interpreting, sharing information and being a conduit between school and parents. Thank you, Thu, your support is much appreciated. I would also like to thank Kristy for her support and especially for her time as School Council President.
A term on Council is for two years. This year we have 4 vacancies. Parents can renominate and new members are welcome. Nomination forms can be collected from the office from Friday the 24th of February. School Council meetings are on Tuesday nights from 6 to 7. Refreshments are provided.
Serving on School Council is a good way for parents to be role models for their children. By taking an interest in school it clearly demonstrates to your child that you value education, and it encourages them to stay engaged with their education. Last year, it was lovely to have a parent on School Council and their child on Junior School Council.
Camping Program
Thank you to the all the parents who came to the information session yesterday for the current Year 5/6 Camp. In response to financial and organisational factors, many beyond our control, our Camping Program has been adjusted. The updated Camping program starts at Foundation with a breakfast, the Year 1 and 2 students have a dinner and activities at school, Year 3, 4 and 6 do a long day excursion. Year 5 students go on camp. See table below.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Just a friendly reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences are being held across two nights next week, Tuesday the 28th of February and Thursday the 2nd of March. Please make a book via the Compass App by tomorrow.
Look forward to seeing you there.
