RPS Band News
Dear Parents, Students and Caregivers,
Wow it’s hard to believe we are heading into our 5th week of the RPS Band 2023 Program. We’re happy to advise we have had a seamless start to rehearsals, tutoring, use of instruments, and seeing the students have fun.
Meet the Teacher
A big thank you to all Concert Band students and parents/carers who supported our first Meet the Teacher evening. The newly formed 2023 Concert band sounded amazing with only 2 rehearsals, and new music. We also had several new inquiries to join the program!
Sponsorship
Carlingford Gourmet Pizza is continuing to support our program for 2023. Over the last 4 years, Carlingford Gourmet Pizza has been an amazing sponsor to the Roselea Band program. They have donated money, pizza for events, and gift voucher prizes for Festival of the Bands and End of Year Concert. Band Camp 2023
We had our first Band "Camp" 2023 planning meeting last Thursday 9th February. Thank you to all the parents and committee members for volunteering their time to support this very important event. Everyone’s enthusiasm & willingness to be involved is fantastic, and we can’t achieve this without you!
This year the camp will be held on the weekend of 11th & 12th March, so please mark this date in your calendar as attendance is required for band membership.
All band parents are asked to get involved by volunteering some time to help out over the weekend. Please see your Band Camp information email (sent 18/02/23) for the Parent Helper Roster 2023 and sign up to help. We love to see the time slots being filled in already.
An Early Bird special for Band Camp 2023 is available via QKR! Ends 28th February.
Election Day Band Cake Stall
To support the band program this year, our first fundraiser will be run in conjunction with the P&C Election BBQ on the 25th March. We are looking for Band Parent volunteers to run this event. Please contact the band if you think you’re the person for the job! roseleaband@gmail.com
Band Communication - All Band parents and carers will receive communication via 3 channels - School Enews App, Gmail (roseleaband@gmail.com) and WhatsApp.
Band Fees
Term 1 2023 Band Fees are due by the 15th March. Thank you to all those who have already made payment!
The Band Program is run on a not-for-profit basis. Whilst we have support from P&C, Roselea School, and Carlingford Gourmet Pizza, we do need to cover many costs including Band Director fees, competition entry fees, music scores, tryout night tutors, administration costs, insurance, instrument maintenance and other out of pocket expenses. In addition, several fundraiser events will be held to help with increasing costs throughout the year.

• Creative kids Service NSW voucher- can be applied to any term
• Early Bird Special Band Camp - available on QKR! now until the 28th of Feb
• Back to School Vouchers - We are accepting Back to School Vouchers ... Please email the band directly.
Joining the Committee
At the end of the year, we will be saying goodbye to some very key people within the Committee. To ensure we have a seamless transition, we are looking for parents to consider supporting the following volunteers in a dual role.
