PE

It’s been an unreal start to our P.E sessions this year. Our prep students have been learning about running, leaping and jumping in a variety of games that require sharing and taking turns. Our Grade 1/2 students are furthering the development of their ball handling skills which involves rolling, underarm and overarm throwing as well as catching. They are building on their skills learnt from last year and starting to become more confident with this.

Our Grade 3-6 students have been learning about T20 Cricket with specific focus on bowling, batting and fielding. They have progressed with their skills significantly and were able to self-umpire their own games showing great teamwork and cooperation.

Our House Athletics is fast approaching in week 6 and we have been practising our skills to ensure we are super prepared!

Golf Clinics

Last year our school received funding from Sporting Schools to complete 4 days of golf clinics. We were required to cancel sessions due to unfortunate weather circumstances which has meant we have been able to complete them this term. The kids enjoy trying something new that requires great focus on control and hand-eye coordination.

NRL Clinics

Our grade 3/4 students were lucky enough to have a clinic run by Ali from NRL Victoria. The students learnt key skills and played heaps of games. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and ensured that they participated with great effort. Attached below are details of the ‘come and try’ sessions if students wish to get involved in rugby in the future.

LOTE

In Auslan we have been revising our fingerspelling skills by going through the alphabet and playing games to help us remember them in and out of order. We have also been focusing on signing about our feelings and we have related these to our zones of regulation colours.

Throughout the term we are going to continue to stretch our skills in forming full sentences incorporating feelings and colour signs.
