SPA update

Welcome

Who we are?

The Shelford Parents Association (or SPA) are a team of parents who collectively bring a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, with the common goal of helping build a supportive and collaborative community that helps to enhance the Shelford experience for our girls.

What we do?

Our objectives are as follows:

  • To cooperate with the School Board in working for the advancement and progress of the school and the welfare and happiness of its students and staff
  • To raise funds for the improvement of the school’s properties and amenities for the benefit and value of the students
  • To develop positive relationships across our Community - amongst the parents and between the parents and the Principal, the parents and the staff, and the parents and the Board
  • To promote Shelford in the Broader Community

The SPA builds and fosters strong relations within the Shelford community engaging parents, teachers, students and the Board. There is a real willingness and desire to expand the culture for transparency and openness across the Shelford community.

In 2022, the SPA Events sub-committee was set up. The right people with the right ideas were given the freedom to be creative and focus on some new and different initiatives. The team are busy creating several exciting new events for 2023, which in addition to building the Shelford community spirit, also help to raise funds for the school.
