What is something that you do to relax and unwind?
Listen to some good tunes and bake, go for a long walk or run, read a good book by the fire.
What one memory do you most treasure?
Our wedding in Tuscany last year with only immediate family and a few friends was just magical.
What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?
Xavier Rudd’s Follow the Sun or any Cat Empire song
What is one word you would use to describe yourself as a child?
Curious - I wanted to know everything and never stopped asking questions!
When are you the happiest?
I’m happiest when surrounded by my family - this only happens about once a year as we are spread out all over the world, so I treasure those moments!
I wanted to take a moment to let the Monty community know that as of next term, I will be taking some time away from teaching. I became part of the Montmorency community around 7 years ago; when I started volunteering one day a week. Needless to say, I have never looked back and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
Personally, my favourite part of teaching has been really getting to know so many amazing students- discovering their quirks, motivations and what really makes them tick! Whilst I will greatly miss the students, families and staff at Monty, I am looking forward to a new challenge. I have been working part time for a company called Code Like a Girl, which encourages women and girls to become involved in computer science. I have introduced and implemented this company’s junior workshop program and am looking forward to taking this education program interstate and seeing it grow.
I will be sure to pop in and say hi, perhaps covering some classes here and there too. This definitely won’t be the last you see of me; more so, as an exciting opportunity has presented itself, I would like to take a break from teaching in a school to see where it may lead.
