Principal's Report

Acting Principal - Sharon Marmo

To The Monty Community and Staff,

This is my last newsletter item as the acting principal of Monty ps.  It has been an absolute privilege to have been the principal of this wonderful school for all of term two.

The Staff: There is not one staff member I would not employ at Banyule ps!  Don’t worry, they are safe. The teachers, the office staff, the support staff and the cleaners are all top rate! Please be reassured that your children are in excellent hands.

School Council:  is made up of positive and pro-active people who are committed to ensuring the kids have the best possible learning environment. Their biggest challenge this term was to go through the principal selection process to ensure Monty gets the leader it deserves. Hopefully, this knowledge will have been released by the time you get this newsletter!

The kids: What a great bunch of kids! I can’t go from one end of the school to the other without a bunch of kids saying ‘Hello’ or give me a High Five! They are happy, enthusiastic and all-round great kids. You should be very proud of them. You have provided us with great ingredients, now the staff can bake a great cake!!

The Parent Community: I have never seen a school with so much parent involvement! I mean this in a good way. From Mother’s Day Breakfast and stall, the working bee, the Biggest Morning Tea and all the helpers in classrooms, well done. All of the sub-committees on school council are focused on school improvement and put in time and energy behind the scenes.

With the new principal starting in term 3 (Janene Worsam) everything is lined up to continue the improvement journey together. I wish you all the best for a bright, happy and successful future. I will miss you all tremendously. Thank you for the honor of being your principal, even if it was for a very short time.

Take Care

Sharon Marmo
